(Empecé a escribir este post el 31 de agosto, pero se quedó en nada… Un mes más tarde -el 29 de septiembre- lo continué, pero hasta hoy ha sido otro de los casi 100 borradores de post que tengo "a medias"… Los "ayer" y demás referencias cronológicas no están actualizadas ;))

Aunque ayer me temía que no tendría ganas de escribir durante un tiempo, esto al menos me mantiene ocupada, y me hace mucho bien. Así que, intentaré terminar algunos de los muchos posts que no he podido terminar en todo este tiempo (¡¡¡unos 100!!! Ya sé que son muchos, pero es que muchas veces estaba escribiendo sobre algo, y he tenido que dejarlo para escribir sobre otra cosa…)

Este post lo escribí antes de que pasara lo de las últimas dos semanas (mi suegra está enferma), por eso no hablo sobre ello en el post. En principio la operarán esta tarde… ¡¡¡Ojalá que todo salga bien!!! (no sigo, que me pongo mala…!!!)

Ya sabéis que intento hacer todo lo que puedo, que os debo muchos posts en los que los protagonistas sois vosotros y vuestros DIY, pero estos días no tengo muchas ganas de recortar, redimensionar y "aligerar" fotos, así que me voy a limitar a las cosas que están sin terminar, pero que ya tenía todo preparado para ello. Así que, como en los puzzles, sólo necesito ordenar las piezas y colocarlas en el lugar que les corresponde.

Uno de esos posts sin terminar es este sobre el ordenador de sobremesa que compramos en agosto (antes de la subida del IVA), pero no compramos un ordenador, sino las piezas que lo componen. Luego me dediqué a colocar cada cosa en su sitio. Es muy fácil porque los manuales explican dónde tiene que ir cada cosa. De verdad, tod@s podéis hacerlo. Además de fácil, es muy divertido (al menos, a mí me encanta), y te sientes muy bien por haberlo "hecho" tú mismito. Así que este es otro de mis DIYs ;). ¿A qué me ayudó maridito? Pues a poca cosa, como os cuento en el post, porque él estaba ocupado con otras cosas (y además, todo esto le parece un "peñazo", por eso de este tipo de cosas me encargo yo -aunque esta vez me costó, porque me cansaba de estar de pie, y me tenía que tumbar un ratito en el sofá para continuar).

El día que me puse a montar el PC lo dejé a medias para ver a Raquel y Noe (quedamos en la terraza que hay casi debajo de mi casa porque los médicos me obligan a salir). Me cuesta mucho (salir a la calle), pero ya sabéis que me esfuerzo muchísimo en hacer todo lo que me aconsejan los médicos, porque yo quiero recuperarme yaaaaaa!!!!

Aquí está ese post que empecé a escribir hace mucho…

El 31 de agosto (hace un poco más de un mes… Sí, lo sé…) tenía que haber publicado las fotos que fui haciendo mientras montaba mi nuevo PC… ¡¡¡DIY!!! ¿Cómo iba a comprar un ordenador ya montado? ¡¡¡Qué aburrido!!! Ya me conocéis… Necesito estar haciendo algo siempre; en realidad siempre estoy haciendo tropecientas cosas a la vez… Eso sí, tumbada en el sofá, porque sigo igual… Ainssss… Aunque en esta ocasión coloqué todo encima de la mesa del salón para no tener que agacharme, y cuando me cansaba, me tumbaba un ratito para volver al "trabajo". De todos modos, al ya tener experiencia, este tipo de cosas se hacen "volando"… Hasta hace un mes mi trabajo estaba relacionado con esto, pero ahora, soy uno más de los millones de españoles que se han quedado sin trabajo por culpa de la crisis: mi lugar de trabajo es una víctima de todos los cambios que están ocurriendo en este país… Esperemos que pronto mejoren las cosas.

No dejo de sorprenderme a mí misma: si me cuentan las cosas que soy capaz de hacer tumbada no me las creo… ¿Lo último? Este finde le hice un vestido (¡¡¡sin patrones!!! Si hubiera tenido que utilizarlos, no podría haber hecho el vestido. Así que todo ha ido "a ojo", inventando sobre la marcha…) a mi Blythe Very Vicky. Todavía está sin terminar porque quiero colocarle algunos adornos, pero al igual que Megan Byte, esos "toques" finales tendrán que esperar a que me reponga y puede estar sentada.

Y otra de las cosas que he hecho ¡¡¡tumbada!!! es hacer mi segundo reroot y un vestido DIY para la Barbie negrita de mi hermana. Aunque tuvo más Barbies (puede que cuatro o cinco; tres, seguro), esta es la única que conserva. Estaba en el trastero de casa, guardada en un neceser de viaje de mi madre (de esos enooormes). Publicaré fotos cuando estén terminadas…

Pero volvamos al PC…

Aunque yo me ocupé del montaje (instalación) de las piezas (componentes), maridito se encargó de instalarme todos los programas que uso, porque no aguanto sentada, y además, hay que estar tanto rato quietos que me aburro, empiezo a agobiarme, y dejo ese tipo de cosas sin terminar… Así que, una vez más, hemos trabajado en equipo. ¡¡¡Por eso me gusta tanto el trabajo en equipo porque consiste en sumar lo que cada uno de nosotros sabemos/podemos hacer!!! No puedo entender a esa gente que va de "estrella" y de "autosuficientes" por la vida… No lo critico: estoy diciendo que no les entiendo… Cada uno tenemos nuestra forma de ser y de trabajar, y yo respeto todas y cada una de ellas (ya me conocéis).

Total, que ese finde (el primero de septiembre) dejamos el ordenador listo y terminado, pero yo todavía no he podido usarlo (maridito sí). He hecho algunas fotos del exterior para que lo veáis:

El monitor es un LG de 22" (panorámico), de lo más normalito: ni hace cosas "raras" ni tiene tele incluida (¿para qué?).

El teclado es un Logitech ergonómico -pero baratito- (tengo el síndrome del túnel metacarpiano así que busco siempre periféricos y gadgets lo más cómodos posibles para evitarme todas las molestias y dolores que pueda. Por eso (aunque en las fotos no se ve -¡¡¡fallo mío!!!-) en vez de un ratón compré un "touchpad" para PCs (funcionan exactamente igual). Es este:

Como os decía antes, me divertí mucho montando el PC, y le pedí a maridito que colocara la carcasa en el suelo porque yo no puedo doblarme (¡¡¡ainsss…!!! Sigo siendo una "pupas"…)

Estoy muy contenta conmigo misma (ya sabéis que soy muy negativa conmigo misma, y siempre me considero la última "caquita"… Los médicos me han dicho que tengo que cambiar esa forma de pensar yaaaaaaa porque no tiene ningún fundamento, y porque, además, me hago mucho daño… Pues sí, Ana (Taqué-Taqué), esa que siempre os anima a hacer cosas, os motiva, valora todo lo que hacéis,etc., es su peor enemiga… ¡¡¡Soy tonta de remate!!! Lo sé… Pero como todas las cosas de "la cabeza", lleva tiempo cambiarlas, aunque vuestro cariño me ayuda muchísimo): después de 2 años sin hacer ninguna "ñapa" informática, me demostré que todavía estoy capacitada para hacer mi trabajo (ya os había comentado que soy informática), y aunque todavía no estoy recuperada como para volver a la docencia (aún estoy "empanada" mentalmente, y para dar clase en FP hay que estar al mil por cien!!!), al menos he conseguido quitarme de encima la paranoia que me atormentaba desde que caí en esta depresión: siempre le pregunto a mis médicos si podré ser capaz de volver a hacer el trabajo que hacía antes, y ellos siempre me dicen que sí, pero que todavía necesito darme tiempo, tranquilizarme, relajarme, olvidarme de todo…, ¡no presionarme ni maltratarme psicológicamente! porque soy una persona muy capacitada, pero por agotamiento he acabado así… Reventé, me rompí, sí… ¡y de qué modo!, pero también tengo que reconocer que "me metía demasiada caña"… Estuve durmiendo durante… no sé si 4, 5, 6 o más años… sólo 2 o 3 horas. ¡No conseguía dormir más tiempo! Tardaba muchísimo en dormirme, y me despertaba a las cuatro y pico o cinco y algo de la madrugada, y tenía que levantarme a hacer algo (lo que fuera: planchar, dedicarle tiempo al Postgrado, al trabajo… ¡¡¡Lo que fuera!!! Así evitaba "rallarme"…) Hay más razones que me llevaron al estado en el que acabé, claro está, pero muchas de ellas no aparecerán en este blog… Dejémoslo en este punto…

Todavía me quedan muchas cosas por hacer (de nuevo): conseguir ver la tele sin agobiarme (al final acabo "escuchando" la tele -si, el único sentido que consigo que se "enganche" a la tele es el oído- mientras posteo, bordo, hago punto… o lo que sea…), poder leer un libro (las palabras se me amontonan y me hago un lío -no consigo centrarme- Por eso mismo, ¡¡¡no sabéis la de tiempo que me lleva leer vuestros comentarios, mails, mensajes…!!! Evidentemente, me lleva muchísimo tiempo escribir mis larguíiiiiiiiiiiiiisimos posts porque no puedo leerlos, así que los escribo despacito por si hay errores (y seguro que alguno se me "cuela"). Y sobretodo el esfuerzo enoooorme que me supone hacerlo. En los momentos peores también me cuesta mucho escribir, pero a pesar de que tengo que esforzarme para hacerlo, me obligo a escribir todos los días si estoy "razonablemente mal" -no, no me he confundido-. Pero todavía hay muchas cosas que no soy capaz de hacer -no os riáis de mí-: ¡¡¡me entran ataques de pánico si abro un armario e intento ordenarlo!!!

En noviembre hará un año que cambiamos de piso (y de caseros, claro), y todavía hay un montón de cosas que están tal cual las dejaron mis cuñados de Santiago (David -el hermano pequeño de maridito- y Ro(sa)) y maridito, no sólo en el mismo sitio, sino, literalmente igual, tal cual quedó cuando llegaron a este piso.

Tengo muchísimas ganas de ver mi casa ordenada, de encontrar las cosas que busco (como tuvieron que encargarse ellos de hacer la mudanza, hay muchas cosas que no sé dónde están, pero no os creáis que me pongo a buscarlas… No puedo con ello, todavía…), y de que mi vida parezca que vuelve a la normalidad… o casi, porque me he quedado sin trabajo (cierra el lugar donde trabajaba), pero está claro que no voy a quedarme quieta, y aunque sé que necesito un cambio de vida en todos los sentidos, lo primero es recuperarme.

¿Qué estaré haciendo dentro de unos meses? Por eso he cambiado la cabecera del blog. ¡¡¡No tengo ni idea!!! Podría estar trabajando en una Consultoría Informática, dando clases en algún Ciclo de Informática en FP, en un grupo de investigación en la Universidad, o haber conseguido mis sueños de ser escritora, y convertir mis aficiones en mi forma de ganarme la vida… Lo más divertido que tiene la vida es que nunca sabes qué va a pasar depués… Que conste que no me gustan los cambios, pero en este momento los necesito.

También me gustaría irme a trabajar fuera de España (con maridito, claro. Sin él, nada de nada). De hecho me tentó una oferta de trabajo de Google, pero al estar incapacitada mentalmente (entended a qué me refiero…), ¿cómo iba a presentarme a una entrevista de trabajo para un puesto de trabajo en Dublín? Necesito un cambio, pero no tan radical, al menos no ahora mismo…

Lo importante de todo esto es que, a pesar de lo que pueda parecer, no estoy hundida por lo de mi trabajo (¡¡¡aunque me encantaba!!!) Todo lo contrario: veo esto como la oportunidad de poder hacer otras muchas cosas. Soy una mujer de muchos recursos. ¿Quién sabe cuál será el que nos permitirá pagar el alquiler y las facturas? Hace 2 años que no puedo conducir, y el pobre Corsita -del año '96!!!- ya ha trabajado demasiado (lleva 2 años cerrado en el garaje… ¡¡¡y sin batería!!!). Le vendría bien que le llegara la hora de la jubilación. Tengo el capricho de un "Mini", pero no deja de ser un capricho. Además, en estos momentos, ni puedo conducir, ni necesito un coche (¡¡¡pero si no salgo de casa ni para bajar al portal!!!) Claro que estamos hablando de sueños, y eso es lo que estoy haciendo.

¿Cuándo va a llegar el momento de hablar de mi PC DIY? Veeeengaaaa, vaaaaaleeee. No voy a prolongaros más la tortura… ¡¡¡Menudo post que me ha "salido"!!! No era lo que había planeado escribir, pero ya véis… Sólo me falta actualizar mi C.V. subirlo a LinkedIn y demás… pero para eso tendría que saber qué es lo que quiero hacer… Y lo cierto es que no me hace falta ni pensarlo ni recurrir a LinkedIn ni demás… ¡¡¡Quiero dedicarme a hacer lo que estoy haciendo ahora mismo: bloguear!!! Lo malo es que con esto no se pagan las facturas… Y sí, tengo la oferta de Lanne Magazine, pero tampoco me pagan nada… Y la tienda online me da pánico que no funcione, porque no puedo competir con los precios de Amazon… Estaría loca si no tuviera miedo. Pero con miedo no se consigue nada, y yo quiero cambiar las cosas, así que tendré que ser valiente (igual que lo soy para otras muchas cosas), y aunque el fracaso está ahí, no puedo conseguir que las cosas funcionen si ni tan siquiera lo intento, ¿no?

Pues eso mismo es lo que os aconsejo a tod@s aquell@s que me decís que os gustaría compraros un PC de sobremesa por componentes, pero que os aterroriza montarlo. Es cierto que siempre intento motivaros para que superéis ese miedo inicial que tod@s tenemos ante las cosas, ante las situaciones desconocidas, pero también habéis comprobado como siempre que os he dicho que todo es cuestión de práctica, así ha sido.

CÓMO MONTAR UN ORDENADOR

Montar un ordenador es tan fácil como seguir las instrucciones… No voy a deciros que las de los muebles de Ikea, pero casi: la carcasa -caja- trae un manual en el que os explica dónde tenéis que colocar cada componente. El primero de ellos es la placa base, placa madre o "motherboard" (en inglés), que a su vez trae otro manual para que sepáis dónde colocar el procesador, dónde la memoria, etc. El disco duro, grabadora/lectora de DVDs, o "blurrais", si sois más modernos, lector de tarjetas y otras unidades de almacenamiento se colocan en la carcasa (caja), igual que los ventiladores (¡¡¡excepto el disipador para el procesador!!!) Pero todo esto viene explicado de forma muy sencilla en los respectivos manuales de la placa base y la carcasa ;), así que no me enrollaré con eso en este post (¡¡¡a ver si consigo terminarlo de una veeeeeeeez!!! Iba a deciros que este post iba a caducar, pero lo cierto es que todavía no he podido estrenarlo, aunque en realidad quien lo ha estrenado ha sido maridito; me refería a que todavía no he podido usarlo… ¡¡¡No sabéis las ganas que tengo!!! Eso significaría que empiezo a estar mejor, pero hoy tampoco ha habido suerte… -es domingo, 14 de octubre de 2012-).

Espero que las fotos os den ese último "empujoncito" para que os animéis a hacer DIYs de ese tipo. De verdad que no tienen ninguna ciencia. ¡¡¡Cualquiera de vosotr@s podéis hacerlo!!! Ya sabéis lo mucho que me gusta animaros a hacer cosas nuevas, y no sólo porque salga más barato comprar un ordenador por componentes en vez de uno ya montado, sino por lo divertido que es hacerlo, y porque es otra cosa nueva que aprendéis a hacer ;). Y lo de que salga más barato, en estos tiempos tan "negros" desde el punto de vista económico, ¿qué queréis que os diga? ¡¡¡pues claro que se agradece!!!

Ahora de verdad que no me enrollo más, y aquí tenéis las fotos que fui haciendo. Cuando terminé de montar el PC me di cuenta de que pude haber hecho más… pero ya era demasiado tarde…

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A COMPUTER

I hope the photos I take that last "push" for who decides to make such DIYs. I really do not have any science. Any of you @ s can do it! You know how much I like to encourage you to do new things, and not just because it comes out cheaper to buy a computer for the components instead of one already assembled, but for the fun of it, and because it is something new to learn to do . And it comes out cheaper, in these times as "black" from the economic point of view, what can I say? Clearly it is appreciated!

Now I really do not roll it up again, and here are the photos I was doing. When I finished installing the PC I realized that I could have done more … but it was too late …

Esta es una de las primeras fotos que hice (la mayor parte de los componentes todavía estaban en sus cajas). || This is one of the first pictures I took (most of the components were still in their boxes).

En esta foto todavía estaba todo sin montar, y aún no había abierto la caja del procesador. || In this photo everything was still unmounted, and had not yet opened the box processor.

Otra foto de la placa base tal cual viene de fábrica. Elegí una "ASUS", porque es una de las marcas que fabrica las mejores placas base. ¿Merece la pena gastarse el dinero en una placa base de "marca"? Todo depende del uso que vayáis a hacer del ordenador. Nosotr@s, como somos informáticos, pues le vamos a meter bastante caña, así que en este tipo de cosas preferimos no escatimar… ¿Que os compráis una marca más barata? Eso no quiere decir que el ordenador se os vaya a estropear enseguida, ¡¡¡ni mucho menos!!! Recordad que los componentes tienen una garantía de 2 años, así que…

¿Por qué entonces una ASUS, si tiene la misma garantía que el resto de placas base? Pues porque no compramos ninguna tarjeta adicional (vídeo, red, sonido…) Usaremos las que vienen integradas en esta placa, que son bastante "majas", y nos sale más barato que una placa base barata + tarjeta de vídeo + tarjeta de sonido + tarjeta de red. Lo que sí no tenemos es conexión "wireless" con la red de casa, así que tenemos que usar un cable de red para conectarnos a Internet. Si queréis usar la WiFi de vuestra casa tendréis que comprar una tarjeta de red adicional que lo permita ;).

En la foto podéis ver los pasos a seguir para la instalación del procesador en la placa base (me olvidé de hacer fotos de este proceso…) ¿Véis la pegatina amarilla? Pues está pegada a una "tapa" de plástico que protege el lugar donde debéis colocar el procesador (insisto en que estoy evitando usar palabras demasiado técnicas como "slot", "zócalo", etc.)

En la foto anterior podéis ver cómo el procesador es una pieza pequeña (estas 3 cosas: manual, procesador y disipador -o ventilador- vienen dentro de la caja del procesador cuando lo compráis. Y sí, también viene la pegatina del procesador, esa "pijotera" que se coloca en la parte frontal (delantera) de los PCs (o en la parte interior de los portátiles -después del teclado-)).

El disipador (ventilador) se coloca sobre (encima) del procesador, después de colocar este (el procesador) en la placa base (estoy intentando no usar palabras demasiado técnicas para que os resulte sencillo entender cómo se hace).

En la foto siguiente podéis ver la parte del procesador que se conecta a la placa base (con esas "patitas" o "pinchitos"). Sobre la parte lisa que véis en la foto anterior va el disipador, que trae una especie de pegamento que con el calor hace que se conecten perfectamente estos dos componentes (procesador y disipador) para que enfríe el procesador y no se quede "frito" (casi literalmente). El disipador es un ventilador que mantiene la temperatura del procesador en los límites que garantizan su funcionamiento "normal" (espero haberlo explicado con la suficiente claridad…)

Otra foto de la placa base, en la que todavía sólo había montado el procesador y el disipador (es el ventilador que se coloca sobre el procesador para evitar que se sobrecaliente). Fijaos cómo en la parte posterior (detrás) del dispador (sólo tenéis que seguir la dirección de los cables de colores) ya he conectado el disipador con la placa base, que es quien lo provee de electricidad para que funcione. Es más difícil explicarlo que hacerlo. Espero que lo comprobéis… ¡¡¡y me lo contéis!!!

Este es un ventilador adicional para refrigerar el PC. Se instala en la carcasa (sujetándolo con los tornillos que trae). || This is an additional fan to cool the PC. It is installed in the case (screws holding it brings).

Dos de los módulos de memoria (si os fijáis, todavía están en el blíster de plástico en el que vienen). En total instalé 4, el máximo que permitía la placa base; cada uno de ellos, de 8 GB (¡¡¡el disco duro de mi primer ordenador tenía 1 GB, y era la cañaaaaa!!! Y ahora los discos ya se miden en Terabytes (TB)… El que le instalé a este PC es de 2 TB).

Aunque me gusta mucho la marca "Kingston" (creo que es la mejor marca en memorias RAM), me salían carísimos los 32 GB de memoria de Kingston, así que compré una marca "rara". ¡¡¡Espero que funcione bien!!! Me ha pasado tantas veces eso de "lo barato sale caro…" Ojalá no sea este el caso…

Two memory modules (if you look, still in the plastic blister coming on). In total installed 4, the maximum allowed motherboard, each of 8 GB (hard drive of my first computer had 1 GB, and was cañaaaaa! Now the disks as measured in Terabytes (TB) … The one I installed on this PC is 2 TB).

Although I like the brand "Kingston" (I think is the best brand in RAM), I went expensive 32GB Kingston memory, so I bought a brand "rare". Hope it works well! It has happened so many times this "get what you pay …" I hope this is not the case …

Como os decía antes, me olvidé de hacerle una foto al proceso de instalación del procesador, pero no tiene ninguna ciencia siguiendo los pasos del manual de la placa base. ¡¡¡De verdad que es muy muy sencillo!!! Que no os de miedo intentarlo, aunque debéis tratar al microprocesador (es una pieza pequeña) con cuidado… ¡¡¡Que no se os caiga al suelo!!!

En la foto podéis ver cómo todavía quedaba sin instalar el cuarto módulo de memoria. Esta placa sólo tiene "espacio" para 4 módulos de memoria.

Una cosa muy importante es que comprobéis que el tipo de memoria que queréis instalar, y la cantidad de memoria (se pueden hacer muchas combinaciones: 2 módulos de 4 GB y 2 módulos de 8 GB = 24 GB… etc., pero NO TODAS "FUNCIONAN"!!!) que queréis comprar son compatibles con la placa base que váis a comprar. ¡¡¡ESTO ES MUY IMPORTANTE!!!

También tenéis que comprobar que el procesador es compatible con la placa base (sorry!!! Se me olvidó comentarlo antes… Intentaba enrollarme lo menos posible, pero es muy importante!!!)

As I said before, I forgot to photograph the process of installing the processor, but science has no following in the footsteps of the motherboard manual. It really is very simple! Do not be afraid to try, but you should try to microprocessor (a small piece) with care … That will not fall down!

In the picture you can see how there was still without installing the fourth memory module. This board only has "room" for four memory modules.

One very important thing is to prove that the type of memory you want to install, and the amount of memory (you can do many combinations: two 4 GB modules and 2 modules of 8 GB = 24 GB … etc., But not all " WORK "!) that you want to buy is compatible with the motherboard you are going to buy. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

You also have to check that the processor is compatible with the motherboard (sorry!! I forgot to comment before trying to hook up … as little as possible, but it is very important!)

Carcasa, caja… Esta pieza recibe muchos nombres (incluso podéis encontrarla como "CPU", aunque la "CPU" es otra cosa completamente distinta (tiene que ver con el procesador).
Como véis tiene varios cables que, entre otras cosas, corresponden a los USB frontales, las "lucecitas" de funcionamiento del disco duro, el altavoz del sistema, etc.

Las "cositas" naranjas que véis son para colocar (y sujetar, of course) discos duros, grabadores/reproductores (DVDs, "blurai"), lectores de tarjetas de memoria (cámaras de fotos, etc.) No hablo de "disketeras" porque no creo que nadie las siga usando, pero si fuera el caso, sí, también irían en una de las de "tres un medio (3 1/2)", o sea, en las pequeñas. En una de ellas he instalado (después lo veréis) el lector de tarjetas.

Case (box), safe … This piece goes by many names (you can even find "CPU", although the "CPU" is another thing altogether (has to do with the processor). 
As you can see has several wires, among other things, relate to the USB front, the "lights" of hard disk performance, speaker system, etc..

Fuente de Alimentación: todos los componentes conectados a la placa base recibirán electricidad a través de ella, pero en realidad es este componente (la fuente de alimentación) quien provee de electricidad al PC. Como véis, lleva un ventilador incorporado para que no se eleve la temperatura (ayuda a que no se sobrecaliente).
Aunque pueda parecer lo contrario, este modelo es muy silencioso. ¡Qué diferencia con mi anterior PC (tiene 12 años)!

Las "cosas rojas esas" son las que se encargan de suministrar (o "alimentar", de ahí lo de "fuente de alimentación") los distintos componentes del PC de electricidad, incluida la placa base: varios de estos conectores irán "enchufados" (conectados, valga la redundancia…) a la placa base en los lugares correspondientes (no hay duda: sólo caben en un sitio, jejeje).

Power Supply: all components connected to the motherboard receive electricity through it, but it really is this component (power supply) who provides electricity to the PC. As you can see, carries a built-in fan to keep the temperature rise (helps avoid overheating). 
Though it may seem otherwise, this model is very quiet. What a difference from my previous PC (is 12)!

The "red things these" are the ones responsible for providing (or "feed", hence the "source of power") the various components of PC power, including the motherboard: several of these connectors will "plugged" (connected, pun intended …) to the motherboard in the appropriate places (no doubt: only fit in one place, lol).

Aunque no lo haya indicado con flechitas en esta foto, debajo del manual podéis ver el disco duro ya instalado en su sitio, y debajo de él (aunque en esta foto no se ve) está el lector de tarjetas.

La "cosa esa" blanca de flores negras es una silla (sí, es de Ikea, así que también es una silla DIY by Taqué-Taqué, jejeje). No es difícil deducir que el PC está en la mesa del salón, ¿no?
Aunque no se vean muy bien en esta foto están el monitor (¡¡¡mi primer monitor plano!!! El de mi anterio PC es uno de "culo" de 19 pulgadas. ¡¡¡No sabéis cuánto pesa…!!!), el teclado (ergonómico, pero de los más baratitos). Es inalámbrico, pero (¡¡¡bien pensado!!!) trae un cable para que se pueda conectar al PC si se queda sin pilas. La tableta digitalizadora (una Wacom Bamboo), y en vez de ratón, como llevo varios años usando portátil en vez de PC, me compré un Touchpad para PC (Logitech) -es wireless-.

The black flowered and white 'thing' is a chair (yes, Ikea, so it is also a chair DIY by Taque-Taque, LOL). It is not difficult to deduce that the PC is on the coffee table, right?

Soy tan normal como cualquiera de vosotr@s, pero me encanta saber hacer de todo (seguro que lo he heredado de mi padre… ¡¡¡Él sí que sabía hacer de todo!!! ¡¡¡Qué pena que la vida no le haya permitido enseñarme todo lo que él sabía hacer!!!
